Here at Fox's Seattle, we appreciate the skill and dedication it takes to make something by hand. So when we discovered these beautifully made clogs on Instagram we knew we'd found something special.

To order, you choose from 2 heel heights, 18 different leather colors, and several different styles to create your own custom pair. The possibilities are so endless that we had a hard time choosing. In the end, the combination of neon orange and veg tan leather seemed like the perfect mix for spring in Seattle. We think they look amazing with our collection of 24 karat gold jewelry from Gurhan!

We had the pleasure of having one of our newest designers, Ray Griffiths, in the store for a trunk show last week. Ray is charming, talented, and has an Australian accent, which makes him pretty irresistible!
He also has a very interesting backstory. Ray is the son of a shoemaker and grew up making shoes. As a teenager he grew interested in making jewelry and became an apprentice at an old jewelry restoration house in Melbourne. As Ray puts it, "I started filing and hammering and turned out to be good at it!"
After that he ran away from Australia and saw the world for 4 years, seeing many of the places and buildings that would later become inspirations for his jewelry - Greco-Roman ruins, Gaudi cathedrals in Barcelona, and Moorish architecture in Spain - before returning to Sydney and becoming a partner at a jewelry business for 18 years. He then packed his entire life - including all of his gold, gemstones, and jewelry making equipment - into a shipping container and moved to New York to seek his fortune, only to arrive to find that the shipping container had been stolen. He had nothing but the 2 suitcases of clothing he carried onto the plane. He worked at a clothing store until a generous friend gifted him her jewelry making equipment and he was back in business!
He spent the next 10 years making and selling jewelry at the late, great Fragments in NYC before launching his own label, which is when we found him. If you love architecture, antiques, gorgeous gemstones, and 1920's flapper necklaces, you will love Ray's jewelry. We hope you will stop by and take a look!

Alison recently had the opportunity to visit Todd Reed's studio in Boulder, Colorado. Every time one of us is lucky enough to visit a designer's studio, we come away with an even greater appreciation for their process and workmanship. This trip was no exception!
The studio is modern, clean, and elegant. There are two floors of workbenches just like the one you see in the photo above.
Three lead jewelers manage the workflow in the studio, and each piece of jewelry to be made is assigned to the jeweler who is best suited to that particular piece.
Each of the 23 jewelers has their own station, and makes the piece from start to finish. It is a very detailed process, beginning with the jeweler choosing which diamonds to use from dishes full of every kind of raw diamond you can imagine, every one different from the next.
Each jeweler has their own interpretation of Todd's signature finish and can identify their own work. If a piece ever goes back to the studio for an adjustment, it goes back to original jeweler.
Once the piece of jewelry is finished, it goes through quality control and an official Todd Reed certificate is made for your one of a kind piece.
